By Valerie M. from Middlebury, VT Posted Mar 22, 2014 After bringing our little dogs to Pilar for three years now I have to say again she is not onlly the best groomer we've ever had but her shop is a comforting, quiet place our bishon/mini poodle and bishon/yorkie enjoy visiting. I noticed some time ago that our dogs would ride quietly to Middlebury laying on the front passengers seat until we were about three minutes from Pilar's shop then they were up looking around and begging to get out. Every time I arrive to pick them up they are laying quietly together in a crate totally relaxed of course until they see or hear me!! Our little female yorkie has actually gotten sick in the past at a groomer's due to the room being lined wall to wall with crates with dogs constantly barking so loud that you literally couldn't hear a conversation. The groomer was also rather irritated with me that our dog had been sick on her table!! As in my review in 2011 I realize some of this might seem silly to some, but we love our dogs and know them well. Pilar must really enjoy what she does but she has to have a natural love for animals for our dogs to not only enjoy going to her place but to be so relaxed there. I say a little prayer each time I bring them to her that she never gets burnt out from doing what she is so good at. Thank you Pilar from Valerie, Roger, Buddy, & Missy. By Jessica F. from Middlebury , VT Posted Jun 25, 2012 We have a Bernese Mountain Dog and he is a PAIN to groom because we don't do so on a regular basis. Not to mention he's HUGE and hard to move around and groom. As Valerie above mentioned, we too had our groomer go out of business, and heard about Pilar's shop...we dropped bernie off and for $75 bucks he was bathed, brushed, toes clipped, ears cleaned, and blow dried out to look like a show dog! For how much work she must've had to do to get him clean we got a heck of a deal! And Bernie was very happy when we picked him up! I highly recommend her! By Valerie M. from Middlebury, VT Posted May 13, 2011 We have a bishon/mini poodle and a bishon/yorkie, they are two and a half so we have had them groomed many times. The groomer we were using evidently went out of business and we were told about Pilar's shop. It was a nice experience and our dogs have never looked better, she did an outstanding job with them. Our dogs are a little spoiled and get upset when we leave them. Pilar's shop is quiet and she must be wonderful with the animals as our dogs were not upset or stressed. They like to stay together and she kept them in the same crate without hesitation; we have had other groomers refuse to cater to the animals. This may sound silly but we adore our dogs and want them to be comfortable. We will be going back to Pilar's and highly recommend her shop in Middlebury.
